THE CONTINENTS.

Continents are very large masses of land on Earth.
They are part of the Earth’s .
The Earth has continents. Seas and oceans separate them.
There is also land underwater: the floor.

The Earth’s crust is much thicker where the continents are. Continental crust can be up to km thick under mountains.
On the ocean floor, the crust is very thin. It is just km at its thinnest parts.
